Curriculum, Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum
The curriculum consists of direct participation in clinical work focusing on Emergency Radiology and dedicated fellow didactic lecture, participation in multi-disciplinary conferences and mentored scholarly activity.
The fellow will spend approximately half of their time working directly with emergency radiologists and the other half rotating through subspecialty areas of abdominal imaging (including ultrasound), cardiopulmonary imaging, neuroimaging, pediatric imaging, and musculoskeletal imaging.
Duties and Responsibilities
The fellow is given graduated responsibility throughout the year. The fellow will rotate with faculty during daytime, evening, and nighttime shifts. The fellow also participates in resident and medical student education.
Participation in some general diagnostic radiology work is included to maintain competence and gain experience.
The fellow will have one-half day per week for academic pursuits. Scholarly activity is required. The fellow will meet with the program director early in the year to identify a project with the goal to submit an abstract for presentation at a national meeting or complete a potentially publishable paper by the end of the year.
Funding support is available to conduct a research project as well as to attend a national conference.
Attendance at daily and weekly conferences is required.
