How to Apply

The Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program offers seven categorical positions each year. We do not offer preliminary or part-time positions. The residency program participates in the National Ranking Matching Program (NRMP)

All applications must be submitted through https://residencycas.com/. We do not offer positions outside the match nor through any other mechanism than ERAS. To obtain further information on our program, please visit the AAMC FREIDA Website.

2025 Interviews

All interviews are held on Wednesdays (see dates below). All interviews will be conducted virtually. 

INTERVIEW DATES:

  • November 5, 2025 (AM session only)
  • November 12, 2025
  • November 19, 2025
  • December 3, 2025
  • December 10, 2025
  • December 17, 2025
  • January 7, 2026 (PM session only)
The prerequisites for the University of Cincinnati Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program:
  • All Applications must be received by September 24, 2025, to be considered for an interview.
  • All Applicants must have three (3) letters of recommendation.  If you have four (4), that is fine.
  • All Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years of when the next academic year starts.  (i.e., for Match 2026 - Graduation date 2021 in order to start 2026)
USMLE Requirements:
  • USMLE Step II CS must be passed prior to Match.
  • Results of the USMLE Step II CK must be received by Feb. 1, 2026, for the application to be considered for the rank list.
For our Osteopathic Applicants and the COMLEX/USMLE
  • USMLE is preferred as it can be difficult to compare COMLEX and USMLE scores.
  • You are NOT required to take USMLE.
  • For those only taking the COMLEX, to be competitive, a score of 625 and above is required for both Level 1 and Level 2.
For International Medical Graduates:
  • The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati only sponsors J1 visas.
  • No previous US experience is required.
  • ECFMG certification is not required at the time of application, but is required by the match.
  • Must have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years.
