Debra L. Breneman, MD

Our program has conducted clinical research over the years, covering a broad diversity of dermatological disorders such as, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, actinic keratosis, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma to name a few. Currently, under the directorship of Dr. Alan Fleischer, MD, clinical research continues to expand the spectrum of complex diseases with unmet needs.

Clinical studies take place on the fifth floor of the Medical Arts Building (MAB) at the UC Health Physicians Office Dermatology. The administrative support is housed  in the  University of Cincinnati Medical Sciences Building (MSB).

Our clinical research includes trials that are designed to:

  • Advance medical knowledge and develop new treatments
  • Improve the quality of life of individuals with chronic conditions
  • Evaluate the efficacy of drugs for potential new applications
  • Test the validity new diagnostic tools

MISSION

The mission of our Clinical Research team is to actively contribute to the advancement of new therapeutical treatments for a diversity of dermatological conditions. There is an unmet need for new therapies that would alleviate itch, inflammation, and pain, symptoms commonly associated with several skin conditions. The severity of these symptoms can cause tremendous emotional as well as financial burden to patients and  family members. Studies in partnership with pharmaceutical companies allows the systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of new developing drugs. Our clinical trials target common and rare diseases that significantly impact patients' quality of life. Led by a team of experienced investigators and study coordinators, we ensure the highest standards of participant safety and data integrity of the studies.
