Overview

Our laboratory is dedicated to uncovering the fundamental molecular and biochemical mechanisms driving the progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the most prevalent and aggressive form of kidney cancer. Collaborating with our multidisciplinary team, we leverage cutting-edge, integrated approaches, including advanced multi-omics techniques such as metabolomics, metallomics, transcriptomics, and spatial technologies, alongside established molecular methodologies. Our ultimate goal is to identify critical vulnerabilities in cancer biology that can be exploited for the development of novel targeted therapeutic strategies. Currently, our research is focused on elucidating the pivotal role of the trace element copper in reprogramming cancer metabolism, a process that fuels ccRCC progression and offers promising new avenues for intervention.
