Join the Head and Neck (HN) Disease Group and Aspiring HN SPORE Team for the first annual Head & Neck Cancer Scientific Retreat. This retreat will showcase the diverse head and neck cancer (HNC) research initiatives at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, covering basic, translational and clinical studies. The goal is to deepen the understanding of disease biology, tumor-immune interactions, treatment strategies and patient outcomes. Discussions will also highlight insights from clinical trials, mechanisms of therapy resistance and anti-tumor immune responses. A strong emphasis will be placed on the effect of proton and photon radiation therapy on the biological and immune response in HNC as this is the focus of the Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) application.

This retreat serves as a platform for researchers and clinicians to collaborate, exchange ideas and advance research efforts in head and neck cancer. Additionally, industry and clinical sponsors will be present, offering investigators opportunities to engage with professionals across biomedical sectors—including clinical, diagnostic, and pharmaceutical fields—for networking and potential partnerships.
