Nature as Medicine Provider Champion Resources

bird on a branch in Burnet WoodsExtensive research has shown that being in nature for as little as 20 minutes per day can reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, strengthen the immune system, and improve self-esteem and mood. Time in nature is particularly beneficial to people living with chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cancer, depression, and anxiety.

The Nature as Medicine program aims to help everyone harness the healing power of nature through:

  • Education on the evidence-based benefits of being outside in nature
  • Increasing the amount of time people spend outdoors
  • Contributing to Cincinnati becoming the healthiest city in America
